Weighted Wildlife is independently owned and operated by an autistic artist living with C-PTSD and a panic disorder, all conditions that make it difficult to relax and sleep.  Lived experience with what does and doesn’t work goes into the design of each plushie. 

+Most weighted plush brands spread the weight out throughout the plush’s body, which lowers the effectiveness of the weight.  Weighted Wildlife concentrates most of the weight into the body of the plush in order to target nervous bellies and anxious knots.

+No added scents means less sensory issues for those sensitive to overpowering smells.

+Weighted Wildlife donates a portion of all funds to wildlife conservation and indigenous organizations in order to fulfill our mission of sustainability.  We also aim to shift all production to 100% recycled material to help fulfill that goal.

Weighted Wildlife currently offers 20 North American animals as our launch options, but we will continue to add more species from all around the world as we grow!

Depending on the reason for cleaning the plush, there are multiple ways to wash your plush.  

Spot Clean Option - for small messes and stains

-Soak in cool water

-Add a small amount of mild detergent to water

-Gently squeeze and wring out plushie 

-When finished, refill basin or bucket with fresh cold water or rinse under showerhead or faucet in order to rinse out detergent

-Allow air dry in a lit, preferably sunny location for at least 24 hours 

Machine Wash Option - for big messes

-Spot clean any large stains prior to machine washing

-Put plushie into either a mesh bag or a pillow case that can be closed.

-Select washing machines gentlest cycle

-Use cold water ONLY

-Use a gentle, scent free detergent preferably

-Wring out majority of water and then allow to air dry for at least 24 hours in sunny location to prevent bacterial growth

Freezer Option - for killing germs and lice/mites

-Insert plushie into plastic bag

-Leave in freezer for 24 hours

All children 4 and over can safely use a Weighted Wildlife plush as all have been tested to safety standards set by the United States of America, the European Union, Canada, and the United Kingdom. 

These standards test for presence of harmful chemicals, flammability, and any potential for pieces to break off.
